I’ve been pretty busy traveling to both Dallas and Miami in the past week and a half since Easter.  But now that I’m back here Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-the-USA, I dragged the ladder out of the garage and around the front of the house to the tree with the bird’s nest to check in on the eggs tonight.

I was surprised to see that there are now only two eggs instead of three.  We had at least one day of really stormy weather since I last looked in on the eggs.  I wonder if one fell out or if there is a predator that snacked on an egg?  I also have yet to see a Momma Bird associated with the nest.  Hopefully these other two eggs will make it and the Momma will be there to care for them.

  1. This really caught my eyes! Cool eggs.

  2. From what kind of bird are this eggs?

    • I’m told they are robin eggs. There are lots of robins in my neighborhood, but a crazy red Cardinal-like-but-not-a-Cardinal bird that is perpetually in that tree. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see once they hatch!

  3. Awww well good to know the other two are doing well 🙂 Thanks for the update and the colors in this photo is amazing
