April Wrap-Up

As April draws to a close, I’m excited to see that the traffic to my site is now more than double any previous month.  From a development standpoint, that means I’m getting more and more feedback — from other amateurs and professionals alike — that is helping me develop my skills.  Even better than that are the connections I’m making with fellow photobloggers from around the world.

Below are some of my favorite photos from April (click each thumbnail to see the original post).

  1. I’ve got to go with the birds nest/eggs. It’s just special. Don’t you love how the stats show you the different countries that click to your blog? It’s my favorite feature.

    • Dear Debby, I have a special spot in my heart for the bird’s nest/egg shot due to the story behind it.

Yes, I love the country stat feature. I have many friends in Europe since I spent half of my childhood there, so it wasn’t super telling at first. But now that I’ve made a lot more connections and I know the visitors aren’t just the folks I know personally, it is pretty darn exciting!

      • I love that you call me loony because I am just that, and I’m proud of it! LOL 🙂

      • When I saw your username that is what jumped out at me. I’m so glad you find it fun! I figured you couldn’t take offense if you purposely named your site Photos from the Loony Bin! 🙂

  3. Beautiful captures! I like them all, but the bird’s nest with eggs is my favorite. 🙂

    • Dear Third Hand, thanks! I’m partial to it because of the story behind it. Although I’m starting to worry that the eggs STILL haven’t hatched!

  5. PS of these, my favorite is the statue of the little girl. It is so happy and free.

    • Thanks Jacquie! I worry a little that the pigeon she’s releasing blends in a little too much with the background, even though I isolated it before blurring the background ever so slightly. I may shoot that statue again next trip to the Plaza and play with it a little more…
