After the Rain
Some big storms rolled through here last weekend. (I know I’m super late sharing these pics. Raise your hand if you have a demanding, full-time job and are raising four kids. Right, I know you forgive me!)
These are two of my favorite shots taken on a leisurely stroll when the rain stopped for a short while mid-morning on Sunday.
Do you have a favorite below? The second shot didn’t turn out quite as I would have liked, so your feedback is helpful!
After the Rain Photo #1. From flowers to tree leaves, I snapped all kinds of plants with water dripping from them. While I always prefer flowers to just green, this was my favorite shot of the whole lot.
After the Rain Photo #2. Okay, be honest… Can you tell this is an image of my daughter holding an umbrella checking out her reflection in a puddle? If I had any talent whatsoever with Photoshop, I’d make the colors in the reflection a bit stronger. In other news, this did help me figure out how to do a shot like this. When I first saw this shot back in February, I tried every angle possible one sunny day and finally gave up thinking they Photoshopped the picture! Any tips before I take my next stab at puddles?

I actually like the second shot. I wish I was more knowledgeable about photography so I don’t have any tips for puddles. Though I would love to see something like this jumping in a puddle with the umbrella.
Oh, Kevin, stay tuned! I have some puddle jumping shots to post shortly! Great minds think alike! 🙂
They certainly do 🙂
I can tell exactly what #2 is, and I LIKE it! Very creative. I think that photo you linked to was Photoshop’d.
Really? Well that gives me a lot more confidence. It’s a cool shot, but my personal opinion that enhancing a digital photo too much afterward (while cool) isn’t really photography.
These are great shots, especially the second one. It really tells a story, with the two different shoes.
Thanks, Victoria! The story I see with the two different colored shoes is that I have a free-spirited, independent daughter. (She’s been wearing the pair like that for a few weeks.) And I’m proud of that story! 🙂
🙂 I love that!
Great post, great photos. Especially nr. 2! 🙂
Thanks, Bente!
The second picture is very clever! I love it! You did a great job 🙂
Thanks, Wanna be!
I like the second one too. 🙂 No need to photoshop it, the reflection is great!
Thanks! I’m so thrilled with all of the positive, encouraging feedback on that pic!
Love the first one!
