Shoo, Fly!

I am one of those city dwellers who only knows one variety of each basic animal.  I can’t tell a copperhead from a diamond back.  I just know snake.  I can’t tell the house variety from the jumping variety.  I just know spider.  So all I can tell you about today’s photo is that it’s one of the most interesting-looking flies I’ve ever seen.

  3. This is a fly of the family “Tachinidae”. If you are interested to see a huge variety of flies, look for http://www.diptera.info gallery (european site) 🙂 I like flies for their beauty.

    • Thanks! I will check it out! I’m not necessarily a huge fan of flies, but the macro shots I’ve taken of two of them so far have been pretty cool!
