Old Building in Columbus, Montana
Although I’ve tried, I’ve been unable to find detailed history of this building in Columbus, Montana that sits parallel to the railway tracks. My mother-in-law tells me it used to be a blacksmith shop back in the day. I’ve also heard it suggested that it used to be an old stage coach stop. All I know for certain is that it’s one of the coolest buildings I’ve ever seen outside of a museum.

Oooh, I love it!! Can you show us more of the building??
I’m not sure that I took much more of the building. It’s now an “Antique” shop (but really it’s a junk shop). The front can’t really be photographed (at least by me) to any justice because it’s got junk everywhere. The inside is amazing, but is afflicted with the same fate. Any tips?
“Junk” photos can be interesting too! I ran into these photos of an abandoned house in Michigan last week that you might enjoy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trishelizabeth86/sets/72157629688507803/
great find!
Trying to get through some of your older posts now: I love this shot quite a bit; the framing is great, there is a slight angle to it that keeps my eyes moving around. Did you try it in a monotone, like sepia or B&W?
Those are great ideas. I haven’t tried any of those yet. However, I was able to get back to that building before we left and I do have three new shots to share as soon as I have a few minutes to get them posted. Hopefully I can try some of those processing ideas then! Thanks for the tip!
Okay, I just posted the three new shots and played a bit with monotone on two of them. If you get a chance, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
