Sadly, this is the last post from Montana. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy being there. Well, certainly between the months of May and September. It’s a bit chilly the other months of the year!
These photos were taken in Valley Creek, an area roughly 20-30 minutes outside of Billings. When my Better Half was growing up, his family owned pasture land in Valley Creek where many, many heads of cattle grazed.

Valley Creek Photo #1. These deer were hanging out by the creek in front of an old, abandoned barn.

Valley Creek Photo #2. I loved the way this cow was grazing right where the rolling foothills met the big, blue sky.

Valley Creek Photo #3. One last log cabin photo, this one beyond acres of still green wheat.

The third shot is my favorite, I love how lonely and desolate it feels with the deep foreground of wheat. It makes me want to look closer, but I can’t! I love it when a photo does that to me. Love the cow silhouette, too!
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Melanie!
Gorgeous! My husband lived in Montana for a couple of years and I am constantly hearing stories about the landscape and the animals – love seeing real pics!
…and just realized you are on Twitter, also, my dear! I will hop on and follow you right now 🙂
Oh, it is soooo beautiful! What part of the state did your hubby live?
Billings(?), maybe? I think he traveled around as well.
Then the sights on my blog should look pretty familiar as Scott grew up just outside of Billings on his family’s farm and his Mom and Sister live there now. 🙂 Small world!
Yep, small world indeed! When I told him I’d answered you here, he also reminded me that he lived in Mazoola too 🙂
That’s awesome! You are in Canada, right? A bit outside of Toronto? I’m headed there for work next week and am sooooo excited to see it!
Yep, right outside of T.O! Oh, there are so many lovely sights to see, even if you’re here on a short trip! There’s a world class, limited timed Picasso exhibit on at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) that I’ll be checking out in mid-August….I’ve heard raves…you might want to take a look 🙂
If the weather is nice, I’ll be outside as much as I can after my meetings, so I’ll probably miss the Picasso exhibit. But that sure is something I’d love to do if I had more time. Or if Mother Nature isn’t going to be nice while I’m there. 🙂
Creative captures!
Thanks, Rommel!
That first picture is crazy! With the rocks in the background! Very pretty! 🙂
Oh, yeah, those are the bluffs that are all over that part of Montana as you start to approach mountains!
