Realizing there is no time like the present, I started this 365 Project and blog at the beginning of 2012 to push myself toward my long-held desire to improve my photography. With half a year under my belt, it’s been everything I’d hoped it would be, and more. On a daily basis I get to interact with some of the most amazing professional and amateur photographers from around the world who encourage me, post tips and tricks, and share their own beautiful shots.
When I started ShutterbugSage.com, I didn’t know about blogger awards like the Versatile Blogger, Very Inspiring Blogger, Blog on Fire, and Kreative Blogger awards. Six months later, I’m honored to have been nominated for several awards by my fellow bloggers. If you’re not yet familiar with these blog awards, here’s how they tend to work:
- Create a post that thanks the person who nominated you and links back to their site.
- Mention and link to x number of other blogs that you enjoy.
- Share x number of random facts about yourself.
- Post the award image on your site.
Instead of accepting these awards, I want to do things my way. After all, I’m the firstborn which makes me naturally a little bossy and determined to do things my way. Just ask my two younger sisters about that…
Awards Shutterbug Sage’s Way
In lieu of a one-time shout out to the folks who nominated me for the awards, a list of seven of my favorite blogs, and a few random facts about myself, I plan to instead continue to:
- add shout outs to my posts as I feel inspired to do so,
- create the A to Z posts that folks have been so responsive to, and
- share little details about myself as it fits into my posts.
I am also publishing a blogroll type of page to share the blogs that inspire me with more longevity than just a single award post. I follow every person who likes or comments one of my posts. If your blog is one that “speaks” to me, I will visit regularly and you will see your site listed on this page. This is even true of the blogs I follow that are outside the realm of photography like “Food” and “Everything Else.” If you don’t see your blog listed, and you think it should be, drop me a comment on the page and invite me to check it out!
