Walking Along the Waterfront
Here are a few shots from my walk along Lake Ontario in Toronto this evening. It is just gorgeous here!
Have you been to Toronto before? What did you think? Do you have a favorite shot below?
Lake Ontario Photo #1. Reflecting on a beautiful scene at the end of the day.
Lake Ontario Photo #2. Sailboats in the harbor.
Lake Ontario Photo #3. More sailboats in the harbor.
Lake Ontario Photo #4. I think I’d have a third or fourth cup with a view like that!
Lake Ontario Photo #5. Seagulls on the waterfront.
Lake Ontario Photo #6. Boats at dock as the sun continues to set.

I love them all because that’s where I grew up, and we sailed every weekend!!! Now I live about 1 1/2 hours north of the city, so it’s still close enough to visit. Nice shots that brought back memories. Thanks!!
Loony, it is sooooo beautiful here! If I get a chance to visit Toronto Island, is there a “must see” (or “must shoot”) part of the island to start with first?
I’m glad you love my old home!! When I was a child we used to dock our boat over at Hanlon’s Point (far west side of the island) and I used to bike to an old lighthouse that everyone said was haunted (somewhere between Hanlon’s Point and Centre Island). I would love to find that again and take pictures. Also, capturing the Toronto skyline from the island is a must. I don’t know how if any people still live over there, but many used to, so maybe there are some old homes or buildings that might be nice to capture. Enjoy Toronto!!!
How fun to hear your perspective on the lighthouse! I was checking things out here http://www.toronto.ca/parks/island/wards-island.htm last night and the lighthouse immediately caught my eye. I’m hoping I can find a way to make it over there before our flight out tomorrow, some way, some how.
I do know that the offices are not too far from Graffiti Alley and I’ve talked our host into a brief, post-lunch walk to clear our mind before our afternoon of meetings over there. 🙂
No 5 I think. No, never been, though I have a young cousin who lives there.
Taking #5 with the seagulls and boat was amazing. A woman just off to the right who’s not in the photo was tossing bread to the birds, not out into the water like nearly everyone I’ve ever seen feed a bird does, but up into the air. In return the seagulls kept hovering near here and preparing themselves to catch the morsels of bread up in the air. It kept them all rotating in this circular pattern and close to her. The fact that that beautiful sailboat was in the background and sunset was approaching was such good luck!
#5’s my favorite.
Thanks for your feedback. I love that one, too!
2, 3, 5, and 6! i love water! thanks for the trip 🙂
Thanks, Marviii! It was so beautiful!
My favorite is the one with the seagulls, but all are lovely. 🙂
Thanks! It’s my favorite, too.
I like 1, 4 and 5 best 🙂 So relaxing
I know you’re not landlocked in Oregon like I am here Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-the-USA, but I just LOVE being by the water. I got up just after dawn every morning and went for a long 30-60 minute walk along Lake Ontario. Just gorgeous!
Oh that’s awesome! Yes I always have to be near the water too 🙂
So happy that you have enjoyed my hometown!
Oh, Toronto is AMAZING!!!
