One Thing, Three Ways: Grasshopper
On a recent walk around Lake Lenexa, I was frustrated that there wasn’t much to photograph. The water levels continue to drop due to the drought, and there is hardly a water bird to be found. No ducks, no herons. There wasn’t anyone fishing or boating on the lake, and a local high school cross-country team was practicing along the trail where I usually find deer at the end of the day.
As I walked back to the playground where Caroline and Sofia were playing, feeling kind of sorry for myself and my lack of photo ops, something jumped from right in front of me to a nearby tree. And so I bring you photographs of this grasshopper, from three different perspectives.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite below?
Grasshopper Photo #2. I’m not going to lie. This shot kinda freaks me out a bit.
