The extreme drought this summer seems to have driven away the wildlife. While it used to be easy to take a walk around Lake Lenexa and find ducks, it’s grown harder and harder these past few months. Nearly all of the creeks, streams, and smaller wetland areas are bone dry. All of the larger bodies of water, including the Kansas River, are visibly lower. That’s why it was such a treat to stumble upon this bunch of ducks.
