Paris: A Pigeon High Up on the Roof of Sacre Coeur
I am fortunate to have spent roughly half of my childhood living in Europe, first in Germany and then in the Netherlands. I am even more fortunate that my parents took advantage of the opportunity and traveled with us extensively during our years abroad. In all of my trips to Paris, I’d never climbed the dome of Sacre Coeur until this one, and I will tell you that it was the most amazing experience! I struggle to think of a better bargain for €6 any where in Europe.
This pigeon was sitting high up on the basilica as we climbed the hundreds of well-worn, circular stairs to the dome. Fortunately for me, he was less skittish than the birds I usually encounter back home Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-the-USA and was willing to sit and pose so I could capture these shots.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite shot below?
