Amboise: High Water Mark

This big measuring stick, running alongside a steep staircase leading from a parking lot by the Loire River up to the main street of the town of Amboise, is used to measure the water level during times of flooding.  From the looks of the Loire and surrounding bodies of water this September, they don’t seem to have to worry about any flooding any time soon.
