I’m still not that confident about my night photography.  Even as I play with my camera settings and use a tripod (okay, this time it was a make-shift tripod along the seawall), my shots still look a bit more grainy and a bit less crisp than the others I see.  That said, these were my three favorite shots at night along the Thames River.

What do you think?  Do you have a favorite below?  Any additional tips to help me improve my night shots?

Along the Thames at Night Photo #1.  The London Bridge at Night.

Along the Thames at Night Photo #2.  To the left is the HMS Belfast sitting in the River Thames.  In the background is the Tower Bridge at night, and to the right is a portion of the Jubilee Walkway.

Along the Thames at Night Photo #3.  View across the River Thames toward the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Set your camera for an open shutter speed and and point it towards a road. If you don’t have a remote, set the camera to timer, and then photograph the cars to get trails 🙂

They are good night photos though, Also the same method will give you clear reflections on water as well 🙂

  2. I think these are fab night shots. I’m not an expert, and I still need to try out different settings when I’m doing night photography. Love the colors in the first one. 🙂
