One Thing, Three Ways: Along the Maas River at Night
The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated countries in continental Europe. A population of roughly 17 million resides in an area smaller than the state of Connecticut. (Just as a point of comparison, Connecticut has less than 4 million residents.) Not surprisingly, it’s possible to drive the length of the country in about three hours, give or take due to traffic.
With the shorter fall days, it was already night when I completed my drive from our office outside of Naarden to the southern city of Maastricht. But it wasn’t too late to walk down by the Maas River and take some night shots.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite below?

Hmmm, I think it’s the third one for me :). Very beautiful!!

Terrific shots. My favorite is the first.
Thanks for stopping by and “voting”! 🙂
I take number two as a favorite for its clean looks and simple but strong composition. Also perhaps it looks more Dutch than the other two. No that’s just my imagination.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, Joseph! I think I agree with you that there is something more Dutch about the second shot. Maybe it’s the portion of the old castellum/city wall that’s more visible? Or the Heineken sign? (Just joking about the Heineken sign…)
I think my favourite is the first second and third 😉
Ha ha ha! Thanks! I think I’m getting more confident with my night shots!
They are really good.
These look great! I think I like the first the best 🙂
