One Thing, Three Ways: Sunrise Along the Maas
As an American who spent nearly seven years of her childhood in Europe, I have a deep love and appreciation for both continents. One of the things I miss most about Europe when I’m stateside is how easy it is to walk or ride your bike nearly everywhere. Since nearly every European town predates the automobile by hundreds of years and space remains a premium compared to North America, cities and towns of all sizes are built around a central core with all the essentials: homes, schools, shops, restaurants, and so on.
Here are three of my favorite photos from an early morning sunrise walk in Maastricht. What do you think? Do you have a favorite below?
Sunrise Along the Maas Photo #1. This shot was taken from the pedestrian bridge crossing the Maas River.
Sunrise Along the Maas Photo #2. Shooting across the Maas to the other side of the river from my hotel.
Sunrise Along the Maas Photo #3. A barge parked in the Maas peeks through another bridge crossing the river as the rising sun adds a touch of pink to the water.
