Paris: Under the Arch

I don’t think I’ve climbed the Arch of Triumph since I was a kid, so I made a point of that being my one after-hours activity the one night I had available this trip to Paris.  I noticed an abundance of police officers in the Metro and in the tunnels under L’Etoile leading to the Arch.  After purchasing my ticket to climb the stairs to the top of the Arch, I realized that there was some sort of special wreath-laying ceremony taking place under the arch that evening.

I was able to sneak this shot in between the ticket booth and the entrance to the stairs.

  1. Good timing…and I give you credit for climbing to the top. I’ve done it once and that was enough to last me a lifetime as I’m not that comfortable with heights.
