My Own Work, from A to Z: Letter B
As a friend recently asked, “What is it about December that brings out the ‘year in review recaps’ and ‘predictions’ in all of us?” I don’t know the answer, but I do feel myself being sucked in. Because the “A to Z” series I incorporated into my 365+1 photo blogging project has been so well received, I thought I’d use the remainder of December to turn the concept around on myself.
As 2012 comes to a close, I’d like to share a few of my favorite shots from my own work this past year from A to Z. There is a poll to vote for your favorite shot at the end of each post. As always I love your feedback and suggestions as I continue to develop my skills.

Thanks, Alastair! I took an awful lot of butterfly photos this past year!
I only managed a few. I can’t do them very well. It’s one area I want to get a lot better at.
They take a rapid-fire setting on the camera and a ridiculous amount of patience to capture.
LOL yes. I managed to nab a few decent ones a couple of months ago that I was happyish with. Would love to take some like yours though. What camera do you use?
I don’t have a very fancy camera. I wanted to spend this year first working on developing my basic skills — composition, lighting, settings, etc — and then see if I was ready for a professional-level camera. I started the year with a Canon and then moved to a Fujifilm in March after playing with a friend’s Fuji. I like it a lot!

They are wonderful photos.
Thank you sooooo much!
My votes for the butterfly. Gorgeous!
Thanks, Renee! It’s my favorite butterfly shot from 2012. And I took a TON of them! 🙂
Oh, most definately the butterfly without a doubt. 😀
The butterfly seemed to rock the vote! 🙂
Definitely the butterfly 🙂
I loved that photo opportunity!
Babysitting Chickens is really creative! God bless!
That photo was such a fluke. I was busy posing the fresh eggs on the hay and right as I finally pushed the button, the hen in the background ran past. I love it! 🙂
More awesome shots! Love the first one the best I think 🙂 They are all just so good! HAHA
