One Thing, Three Ways: Making Dog Biscuits
I don’t know about you, but I need a break from the more than 200 snow photos I’ve taken over the past few days. Here’s something different: my youngest and I baked pumpkin dog biscuits for Ben as we continue to enjoy a second week of winter break from work and school. Oh, Monday, January 7th, you will be here with a vengeance before we know it, so we are packing as much fun as we can into every remaining minute!
What do you think? Do you have a favorite shot below? Have you ever baked dog biscuits or made any other kind of pet treats at home?
Dog Biscuit Photo #1. My youngest daughter rolls out the pumpkin dough.
Dog Biscuit Photo #2. Doggie biscuits ready to bake. My daughter selected butterfly cookie cutters. Because she could.
Dog Biscuit Photo #3. Look at the sweet boy sitting patiently! He LOVED them! Then again, he will eat ANYTHING (including cat poop). Except lettuce.
UPDATE January 6, 2013: Since so many folks have asked about it, here is the recipe for the Pumpkin Dog Biscuits. We added another egg to the dough and used quite a bit of additional brown rice flour when we rolled it out to keep the dough from sticking to the surface and rolling pin. If you give the biscuits a go, be sure to come back and leave me a comment about how they worked out for you!

Got to be the last one 🙂
Such a good boy sitting patiently!
looks like it. Did he enjoy it?
Oh, yes!
Will have to Google that recipe! I like the first image best, but your dog is beautiful, and such a good dog waiting so patiently.
Robyn, here is the recipe: http://simmertilldone.com/2009/10/07/retriever-retriever-pumpkin-eater/. We ended up adding another egg to the dough and had to use quite a bit of additional brown rice flour when we rolled it out and cut out the biscuits. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
Aren’t you going to share the recipe? Nice shots! Love the last one!
Here you go, Carissa: http://simmertilldone.com/2009/10/07/retriever-retriever-pumpkin-eater/. We ended up adding another egg to the dough and needing quite a bit of extra brown rice flour when we rolled it out. If you try it, let me know how it works for you!
Thanks!
No 3 is just fab and made me smile. But no 2 is the best, in my opinion. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your opinion, Inga!
Oh how fun! Now I just need a dog… lol! Maybe my cats will eat them hahaha
My cats are both currently on diets, so I think they’d eat a pumpkin dog biscuit if offered! 🙂
My dog won’t eat lettuce either. yours is a sweetheart.
