Skinny Rule #1: Drink a LOT of Water
In my 2013: A Look Ahead post, I mentioned that one of the things I need to work on in 2013 is more regular, consistent exercise. It seems like, with every year that passes, it gets a little harder to maintain my weight.
Rule #1 of The Skinny Rules is to drink plenty of water. While I feel like I’ve always drunk plenty of water, I’m making an extra effort to down a full glass of ice water every hour, especially before sitting down for a meal. Here’s a fresh glass of ice water in one of my favorite glasses, a favorite because it reminds me of France.

It is helping me keep a “full” feeling more of the day so I snack less and am happy with smaller portions at meals. I only have five to ten pounds to lose, but man it’s harder and harder to do that each year!
I’m with you … only I’d like to lose about 20. And it sure does get harder each year. Great photo!
