A Cupcake in the Hand…
…is Better than Two in the Bakery Box!
I loved this photograph of hands holding a star Christmas ornament over at HelenOgraphy’s blog and was inspired to try a similar shot. Since the Christmas decorations were already put away, I had to find another worthy object to be held in my oldest daughter‘s hand. Lucky for me we had just purchased some cupcakes.
My shots are nowhere near as amazing as Helen’s, but I thought they weren’t bad for a first go. What do you think? Do you have a preference between the black and white and the partial color versions below?
Cupcake Photo #1. Black and white.
Cupcake Photo #2. Black and white with spot color sprinkles.

Partial colour one for me. But then again, I’m a big fan of selective colour !
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment, William. I think it’s my fav of the two, too.
Loveeeeee the partial colour shot, and now I really, really need a cupcake!! Yummy :).
Thanks for your encouragement. Cupcakes are good! 🙂
DEFINITELY the partial color. Love it!
Thanks so much!
Nice shots 🙂 Glad to be of inspiration 🙂 🙂 I think the b&w is my fave. There are still a lot of different shades captured even without the colour.
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your comment, Helen. I’m really enjoying your blog. Your photos are amazing!
WOW! That’s awesome! You did a great job, I love the last one the best 🙂
That’s my “hand model’s” favorite, too. 🙂
Great use of color isolation!
Why, thank you! And that pretty much sums up what I can do in Photoshop. 🙂
Great shot! Really well done. I love the one with selective colouring – it makes me want to eat it 🙂
