…not even artificial ones!

In my 2013:  A Look Ahead post, I mentioned that one of the things I need to work on in 2013 is more regular, consistent exercise.  It seems like, with every year that passes, it gets a little harder to maintain my weight.

Rule #10 of  The Skinny Rules is to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet, including artificial ones.  I’m not sure how a sweetener like stevia, especially in its raw form, that has no calories, but is also all natural, plays into this rule, but I can take a photo of it for my blog!

  1. Added sugars … for me this is always a problem when I am in the U.S. Even when a product promises it is sugar free, I find hidden sugars on the list of ingredients. So when I am in the US I usually shop in health food stores. It’s not that I have to watch my weight, but as most vegans I do not eat sugar or white flour for the sake of my health.

    • Americans love their sugar! One of the things I appreciate most about Europe when I’m there (and miss most about it when I’m gone) is how amazing the baked goods (even sweets like pastries and cakes) taste when the chef lets other ingredients (fresh fruit, fresh cream with flavorings, real chocolate, etc) make the statement than a bunch of refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup.
