Tailgating
For the many visitors visiting my blog from outside the US, tailgating is the act of socializing with food and drink around the open back end of a car, a mostly American phenomenon.
My youngest daughter and I finished a picnic lunch at Loose Park on the warm, sunny day we had here Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-the-USA this past Saturday and headed back to our car. Once there we decided to split an apple and get a little more water before carrying on with our day. As we finished up this last little bit of food and drink, my daughter pointed out our tailgating shadows so I snapped this pic.

HAHA Cute picture! Very fun and I love it!
I love how smart Sofi-Kat was in spotting the shot. I was totally oblivious, chomping on my apple and basking in the sun! 🙂
love the shadow!!
Thanks! I was oblivious to it until my 6-yr-old pointed it out. She’s pretty excited it was the photo of the day. 🙂
wonderful shadow, well caught, thanks to your daughter 🙂
How fascinating! Here in the UK, tailgating is rather less friendly. It’s the action of a driver who wants to intimidate a slower driver in front by sticking as close as possible to their tailgate. I like your version of tailgating much better 🙂
I knew the UK version of the word was more prevalent outside the US, so I thought it would be a good idea to make that clear up front. Oh, how we Americans love our cars and to eat. See how we put them together?!?!? 🙂
This is such a wonderful shot! Looks and sounds like a nice thing to do on a nice day 🙂
