Do a Studio Shoot Meet Up: Randi
I mentioned in yesterday’s post that my daughter had a chance to watch two seasoned models move in front of the camera at the Meet Up event we attended in downtown Kansas City on Sunday. Here is a photo I took of one of the models, Randi. I was by far the biggest amateur in the building, but I learned so much from the wonderful photographers there, from serious amateurs to amazingly talented professionals.

I don’t like the eye make up .. but there again, I’m a bloke who is quite happy for a woman not to wear make up. Probably why I live alone with my kids LOL
I can barely do my own make-up, so I won’t critique the professional who made her up for the shoot. 🙂
😀
Nice photo…I like it! 🙂
Thank you! I can’t believe I learned enough from that one event to take this shot with 100% manual settings and use studio lighting! 🙂
You’re making me want to take a photography class… 🙂
Wow! Too bad I don’t get paid on commission! 🙂
That is so incredible Shutterbug! I’m so proud of you for doing this! I get so nervous, I would be a wreck! HAHA! But this is a great shot and I can’t wait to hear about and see the things that you learned 🙂
I can’t believe I took the shots that day in 100% manual mode and with studio lights. I learned so much in just a few hours!
I like your use of lighting. DOF & composition are good. Congrats.
Thanks, Mona! I learned so much from the other folks at the Meet Up!
I like the pose and lighting, but like Alistair, I’m pulled up a little short with her make-up. I think your make-up artist was a bit heavy-handed. I want to wipe the smudges from around her eyes, 😦
Still, doing this sort of thing with other photographers is a wonderful thing! There is a synergy and sharing of knowledge and experimentation that can’t be beat!
Awesome opportunity!
Very nice 🙂
