Rule #2 of  The Skinny Rules is don’t drink your calories.  Beyond the caramel latte I sip each morning, the only other calories I regularly drink are skim milk with dinner and a glass of wine at bedtime.  (It’s for my heart health.)  During the day I drink plenty of water, occasionally mixing it up with no calorie, fresh-brewed green tea poured over ice.

That’s not to say that I don’t have a cache of these little bottles of Starbuck’s frappuccinos in the fridge in case of an afternoon caffeine emergency.  At 200 calories a pop, these bad boys are just that, bad. For the same calories, or fewer, I could enjoy:

  • Greek Yogurt and Blueberries
  • Cottage Cheese with Fresh Fruit
  • Four Deviled Egg Halves
  • Carrot Sticks and Hummus
  • A Pear and String Cheese
  • And at least 95 other, more fulfilling options

But I’m not sure any of those snacks could give me the afternoon jolt of caffeine that is usually required when I grab a frappuccino…

  1. Mmmm those are addicting that’s for sure lol! Like your list! What kind of wine is healthier for you? I heard it’s red wine, but I wasn’t sure, I’d love to have the excuse to have a glass wine every night! HAHA
