The good news is that I got to escape the cold and snow of Somewhere-in-the-Middle-of-the-USA for a few days.  The even better news is that I got to see my sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces in Phoenix this past weekend.  Little Frankie is five and just as cute as ever.  The Deuce is approaching 18 months and isn’t so sure about me, especially since she only gets to see me a few times a year, but I think she did much better with me this visit than at Christmas just a few months ago.

The Deuce boycotted her naps on Saturday so ate dinner earlier than the rest of us so she could get her exhausted self to bed.  There was a lot going on as my brother-in-law grilled out back, my sister made dessert in the kitchen, and Frankie alternated between the two.  My sister has found that The Deuce eats better when served at a toddler table rather than in her high chair under those circumstances.  And by “eats better” I mean a bite or two followed by much toddling around keeping up with the big people.

These shots might have made a good diptych for my Capture Your 365 Project now that I look at it…

  2. Love it!

Toddlers like their routines, and when they are disrupted, whoa to the rest of the world! 🙂
