One of the things I did to put myself through graduate school was to work for a wholesale florist.  Other than the fact that I’m sooooo not a morning person, the job was perfect for me.  For a few (early) hours before school, I’d unpack the daily shipments that just arrived from the airport and package up orders for local flower shops.  Whether tulips from Holland or long-stemmed roses from South America, I was able to purchase anything I wanted at wholesale prices.  Even on a starving graduate student’s budget, I was able to buy a bouquet a week, and a bouquet of fresh flowers is awfully fragrant in a studio apartment as small as mine was!

Since those days decades ago, Gerbera daisies have always been a favorite of mine.  When March didn’t bring spring and the snow kept piling up outside, I brought home a bunch from Trader Joe’s so I had something spring-like to shoot for a change.  While these are my best shots, they’re not entirely what I was hoping to capture, so let me share a shout out to these amazing Gerbera daisy posts:
