17 Mile Drive: The Lone Cypress
The Lone Cypress is the official symbol of Pebble Beach. It stands tall on a rock ledge that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. In 1889, Fitch encountered the Lone Cypress called it “the boldest headland on the peninsula of Monterey.”
