“Well, I’m a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin’ down to take a look at me

“Take it Easy” by The Eagles

Responding to the fame from the 1972 Billboard hit by The Eagles,” the town of Winslow, Arizona erected a monument at the corner of 2nd and Campbell.  It includes a statue of a man standing on the corner with an acoustic guitar, a two-story mural, and a red, flatbed Ford at the curb.  It was quickly growing dark when we arrived in Winslow, but I think I was still able to capture its essence.
