In Flight Meal

Over the past three weeks, I traveled nearly 20,000 miles between seven cities on three continents.  January is the worst possible month to travel in the northern half of the Northern Hemisphere.  It’s cold, damp, and dark.  Plus, my trip was for work, so there were precious few hours to see much of anything outside of our offices and hotels except in the evenings and over the weekends.

Thinking just about the photography, there were some highs and some lows.  A co-worker with me in Dubai taught me several new things about my tripod and night shots. I’m excited to post my favorite night shot of the Burj Al Arab hotel using my new skills!  On the down side, I had something funky going on with my settings and most of my shots from Istanbul, Turkey look really bad.  I also feel like I’m rather out of practice in general after taking and posting shots so sporadically for the past several months.

It’s not the sexiest shot from the trip, but it’s the first.  Here is the in flight meal served by Air France on my quick flight from Paris to Amsterdam.  It was nice receiving a hot meal on every flight of more than two hours while overseas, most of which were awfully darn good meals!
