View from the Galata Tower
Because it was a Saturday and the weather was unseasonably warm, a colleague and I set out on foot to get as much sight-seeing as possible crammed into our gorgeous day. The Galata Tower is a medieval stone tower that was a short walk from our hotel. When it was built in the 1300s it was the city’s tallest structure. The panoramic view it provides of the Istanbul peninsula was the perfect way to start our day! (I believe the bridge in this shot is the Ataturk Bridge.)
