Similar to my experience in Athens, Greece several years ago, there are stray cats all over Istanbul.  But unlike most stray cats in the US, they are very friendly and tolerated by the locals who also help ensure they have scraps to eat and clean water to drink.  This sweet mouser was sunning herself near the Grand Bazaar and enjoying the unseasonably warm January day as much as I did.
