Lisbon Tram at Night

Lisbon‘s small, vintage trams cross the city’s narrow, cobblestone streets and steep gradients.  They were introduced to Lisbon in the 19th century, and the original cars were imported from the United States.

Here is a quick shot of one of the trams at night as we walked to the Bairro Alto district for dinner.  The shot is a little grainy, but I love its spirit.  It’s difficult to set up a tripod and grab a long-exposure short on the sly, and I love that when the tram’s driver saw me he stood still and posed while flashing a peace sign.
