Christo Rei, or Christ the King, is a colossal statute of Jesus inspired by Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It stands on a cliff that is is the highest point in Lisbon, Portugal.  While I didn’t get a chance to visit the Monument while I was in Lisbon, it was conveniently located just across the Tagus River from our hotel, and one of my colleagues let me visit her balcony at sunrise to snap this photo.

  1. Lucky you – beautiful photograph. When we visited Lisbon we had drizzel the whole week we were there so no such lovely sunrise photos, but……we had a most wonderful time up on the old Fort…..happy with my “slightly rainy” photos from there 🙂
