After getting the idea from this year’s Valentine’s episode of the Big Bang Theory, Better Half treated me to dinner on the Wine Train for my birthday this year.  It was an amazing experience!  We planned ahead and were lucky enough to score a Vista Dome reservation.

Boarding began around 5:30 pm for a 6:00 pm departure.

Guests in the Vista Dome car were immediately served a glass of champagne.

And then the train chugged slowly into the Napa evening.

The food was phenomenal!  This was the salmon crepe appetizer, the first of five courses.

The scenery was equally lovely as the evening turned first to dusk with a bit of fog in the distance and then to night.
