The Northern Cardinal is so well-loved that it has been named the official bird of seven states.  I have been stalking female cardinals all spring.  While I know I still have so much to learn as a photographer, here were three shots that were decent enough to share.  What do you think?  Do you have a favorite below?

Female Cardinal 4_edited-1
Cardinal Photo #1.  This shot is probably the crispest shot, but it’s not the most interesting.

Female Cardinal 5_edited-1
Cardinal Photo #2.  This shot isn’t as crisp as I would have liked (it maxed out the capabilities of my not-so-great camera), but I loved the colors in the background.

Female Cardinal 6_edited-1
Cardinal Photo #3.  I love her expression.  She’s clearly (and understandably) sick of me!

  1. I just love the pose in the third shot. She’s modeling for you :).
