Unbloomed Thistle
Before I started my 365 photoblog in 2012, I never noticed bull thistle, a giant purple thistle wildflower that is part of the sunflower family. Now I see them all over, and think they are pretty cool.
Here’s one that hasn’t yet burst open in purple spikes.
Really… part of the sunflowers? I never knew that. I can see the resemblance in the flower leaves 🙂
