One Thing, Three Ways: Scenes from Berlin
A few photos from around Berlin…
Known as Berliners to the rest of Germany, the folks from Berlin call these jam-filled donuts pfannkuchen.
The pedestrian crossing symbols known as Ampelmann in German are one of the only features of Communist East Germany to have survived the closing of the Iron Curtain.
In the 25 years since the Berlin Wall fell, most of the apartment buildings constructed during the communist regime have been renovated. Dull-colored, look alike exteriors have been replaced with updated facades and vibrant colors. This is one of the buildings not yet updated.
