With more than 100, large format works of art painted on a 1,316 meter long portion of the remains of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery is the world’s longest open air gallery.  In addition to Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall Memorial, the East Side Gallery is one of three “must see” sites to fully experience the Berlin Wall in a reunified Germany.

East Side Gallery Photo #2. Strolling along the 0.8 mile length of the wall that remains and is now a work of art, one is painfully aware of how isolating it must have been to be separated from the rest of the world by this cold, concrete wall for decades.
