Listed as endangered with only about 3,000 left in the world, the Chacoan peccary was originally thought to be an extinct species, but in 1971, the animal was found alive in the Chaco region of Argentina.  Peccaries loosely resemble pigs, from their body shape to their leathery snout.  These two young peccaries were snuggled up together in the sand back-to-back with momma.
