Native to central and western Africa, the slender-snouted crocodile is critically endangered.  Critically endangered means that the species faces a very high risk of extinction in the wild.  Adults are about eight feet long, and this guy was awfully intimidating, even if behind glass, at the Kansas City Zoo.
