Kansas City Zoo: Penguins

About two years ago, the Kansas City Zoo opened a $15 million, 19,000 square foot penguin exhibit.  It is absolutely phenomenal, and about once a month during the winter, the gentoo and king penguins at the Kansas City Zoo march in the plaza near their exhibit.  Here are three photos from a recent visit.  What do you think?  Do you have a favorite below?

Photo #2.  A gaggle of gentoo penguins.

Photo #3.  While the gentoo penguins generally walk much more quickly than the kings during the Penguin March, my photos of the gentoos came out best.

  1. I can’t decide because I love penguins. I love all of your photos :).

  2. Penguins are a lot of fun! I like all these shots 😊

  3. Picture number one and two look more like the Humboldt penguin than the Gentoo.

    • Thank you for correcting me, Dr. Walters! (Sorry for the VERY delayed response to your comment. My house flooded last June and I’m *STILL* catching up from it.) 😦 Please check out the evolution of my blog over at EverydayWanderer.com.

I love hearing from you!
