One Thing, Three Ways: Giraffes at Zoo Atlanta
For as long as I can remember, my daughter Gigi has adored giraffes. To me they resemble one another as both are tall, lean, and graceful. Here are three of my favorite photos of the giraffes at Zoo Atlanta.

Zoo Atlanta Giraffe Photo #1. The giraffe is the tallest mammal in the world. Even newborn giraffes are taller than most humans!
Zoo Atlanta Giraffe Photo #2. Giraffe tongues are up to 18 inches (45 cm) long and allow giraffes to feast on thorny trees and other vegetation that other animals tend to avoid.
Zoo Atlanta Giraffe Photo #3. Giraffes spend most of their lives standing up. Newborns can stand within half an hour and can run alongside their family within 10 hours after birth.
