This guy has been getting into my garden and feasting on all of my spring goodies. Hopefully the new fence, sprayed with an extra dose of invisible fence for good measure, will deter him from now on.
It feels like years since it’s been here! While some parts of the country are dealing with drought conditions, the Midwest has experienced a very wet spring. The wildflowers in my garden seem as desperate for the sunshine as the rest of us living creatures.
Speaking of attracting pollinators into my garden, I don’t believe this flying insect landing a sage flower is a bee but rather a type of fly called a hover fly or a flower fly. Unlike a bee, it doesn’t have a stinger. Like a bee, it helps with pollination. Sounds like a win/win to me!
